O-CU

O-CU: What does it mean?

The O-CU is a logical node in the 5G network architecture that provides centralized control and management functions for the network. It has the same functionality as the (en-)gNB-CU or (ng-)eNB-CU, with the added capability of terminating the E2 interface to the Near-RT RIC. The O-CU is responsible for network configuration, monitoring, and management, improving network reliability, performance, and scalability.
