O-RAN MoU publishes updated technical priorities list
Open RAN Technical Priorities Release 4 details requirements related to AI/ML, the interworking with traditional RAN and Security.
Security issues and the vision for a zero trust approach and requirements for certification were another focus of Release 4 compiled by the five signatories of the MoU on Open RAN: Deutsche Telekom, Orange, Telefónica, TIM, and Vodafone.
Other topics updated and enhanced in the latest release are cloud infrastructure with a focus on O2 and Acceleration Abstraction Layer, RAN software, O-RU and O-CU/DU, RAN hardware acceleration and challenges related to both the look-aside and in-line acceleration card models. RAN hardware acceleration requirements are now to be found in a dedicated section of the MoU Technical Priorities document.
The latest version of the document, as well as the Notes on the Technical Priorities (Release 4), the MoU Security certification for security requirements, and the Security MoU Zero trust approach commitment can be found on the O-RAN Ecosystem Resources page of the O-RAN Alliance website.
