12 Successful Test Case Scenarios | i14y Lab Fall PlugFest 2023

The O-RAN Alliance Global PlugFest for fall of 2023 is wrapping up at the end of this month, so it's time to reflect. Through the culmination of collaborative efforts, innovative testing, and industry-wide commitment, we here at the i14y Lab are proudly standing by the accomplishments we’ve made alongside our partners and participants this time around.


During this O-RAN Global PlugFest we have successfully completed 12 test case scenarios at the i14y Lab. In collaboration with over 20 participants and thanks to the amazing work by our partners during this PlugFest, we were able to test:


  • Conformance test scenarios
  • RIC-related test scenarios

Test Scenarios

Conformance Test Scenarios (3 Completed)


The Conformance Test Scenarios, featuring companies such as ADI, Keysight, PHYTunes, Tejas Network, Viavi, and R&S, showcased the commitment to interoperability and conformance. The testing highlighted the robustness of components like ADI's Kerberos O-RU reference design in the Open Fronthaul context and Keysight's O-DU emulator.


RIC-related Test Scenarios (9 Completed)


The RAN Intelligent Controller (RIC)-related scenarios involved a diverse group, including Juniper, Rimedo Lab, Keysight, Nokia, Capgemini, VIAVI, and others. From testing Juniper's RIC to experimenting with Capgemini's Traffic Steering xApp and VIAVI's TeraVM RIC Tester, the PlugFest showcased the richness of innovation in the RIC domain.
